About the Trust
Doncaster Civic Trust was founded in 1946 to help in the work of conserving and improving our town and its surroundings.
We are particularly concerned to promote:
- the preservation and conservation of historic buildings
- high standards of new building design and landscaping
- the protection of places of natural beauty
- an increased public awareness of the built and natural environment
We are a registered charity and operate on a voluntary basis. New members are always welcome.
We offer our members talks, meetings, heritage walks and regular newsletters. The Trust’s various groups cover conservation and planning matters, tree planting, social activities, educational schemes and other specific projects and campaigns.
For many years we have been an influential voice in the area, particularly when the environment is under threat.
If you would like to further your interest in Doncaster’s historic buildings and areas why not join the Trust? Application forms are available on the ‘Join Us’ page.
