Ward Brothers/Harwood Terrace

Harwood Terrace, incorporating a Rounded Corner, was originally a planned town centre development of 20 houses. It was built in 1826 by Mathias Harwood, a corn mill owner. These buildings are amongst the oldest planned urban developments in the town, having survived a planned demolition in the early 1960s.

Harwood -- often misspelled as "Harewood".

In the 1920s the Corporation established a bus station here, which was moved to the Glasgow Paddocks site in 1948.

Ward Bros  moved into Waterdale in 1930.
